Renee Says Week 3

Renee "I have to go potty mom". So I say "then go potty". Renee says..."Great idea cuz I have to go bad"

In the bath tub washing her body. She is using body wash that gets really soapy. She says "I want to get this all over me so I will look like a snowman". I say "you mean snow woman"? Renee says..."No, Snow White"

Renee has been sick this week with a bad cough. Asthma + Bad Weather = Sleepless nights. So she has been coughing every couple of seconds and it is just gut wrenching. So she is on medication and she has to take it every 4 hours even through the night, unless she is sleeping fine without it. Usually when she is sick she sleeps in our room so we can listen out for her. Last night I was at practice (for church) and Mike stayed home with the kids. He went and prayed with each boy. Mike walks into Renee's room to pray with her and doesn't see her in there. Then he hears her yell from our room "Daddy, Im in your bed". So he walks into our room and she says "You know I sleep in your bed when I'm sick" (like duh, what were you thinking!!!) He says "uhhh, ok" So then she pushes her luck and says "can I watch a movie"?

Out to eat at lunch Renee got in trouble for something and snapped an attitude with me. Mike was sitting beside me. (He does not let them talk disrespectful to me. That is one of his trigger points). As soon as she realized what she had just done she turned her head towards him and said just as fast and angelic as she could "Daddy, I love you". He lost it. He broke out laughing. It was just so fast. Totally unexpected.  :)

Mike found a song this week that he has been singing. It cracks me up. It says...

I think I'm going to throw up, I think I'm going to throw up, I think I'm going to throw up my hands to the Lord.

I think I'm going to hurl, I think I'm going to hurl, I think I'm going to hurl my sins right out the door.

I hope you had a great Wednesday!!!

Homeschool

We started homeschooling the boys after the Christmas break. They are very behind in school so we thought this would be the best (and quickest) way to catch them up. Renee also participates even though she is not quite old enough to start school. We are using "My Father's World" as our curriculum. We picked it because it is very hands on and has lots of activities and since our kids can't sit still for very long it was just an easy decision. I love teaching them. It is very fun, sometimes challenging, but always exciting. :)

Renee tracing her letters.

Each week we learn a new letter and have science, math, and reading based on the letter. This week it was "I" for Insect.

So we caught a bee (yes, I'm allergic to them). We swooped it up in the net and put it in the catcher then slowly pulled the net out.

This is from Pinterest and has nothing to do with what we were learning. But it was fun to make. We made one pot with red noodles, one with blue. Then blue alfredo sauce. They loved it.

This was the week of "S". We made pancakes and each of us got to draw the letter "S" on the pan using our new pancake pen. Thanks mom for buying it for us. It came into great use.

"T" for turtle. We made turtles out of paper dessert plates and green construction paper. You know you like the pajamas. The funny thing is the boys are in shorts, Renee is in the hottest thing you could wear. That is because after the winter Renee would not stop wearing footed pajamas. We had to take them out of her drawers so she wouldn't be tempted.  :)

Wesley picked out his own outfit that day. A cars hat. Soccer pj shirt. Spider man pj pants. Orange Halloween socks, with the pumpkin on the ankle. and tennis shoes.

Doesn't everyone do school in their pajamas???     :)

Renee Says Week 2...

This week I don't have many to share but the ones I do are pretty funny.

We were getting ready to leave the house and Mike was taking the kids by himself (always an adventure) so he went to each child on their own and made sure they knew what the rules were going to be and to made sure they obeyed him. Mike told renee "I need you to mind me" Renee says..."remind you what???"

Pop and Nanny came over to spend the evening with us and to help in the yard (YAY!! Thanks for the help!). This time when Nanny came she brought Renee a shower cap to wear in the bath tub. She gave her the shower cap a couple of hours before bath time. So when bath time came Renee went up to nanny and Renee said... "Nanny where is my handicap?" Then she continued calling it her handicap all night.

Renee was helping clean and we were cleaning with vinegar (which Mike hates) and she said "Mom, I smell stinky" I said "You do? What is it?" She said "I smell it with my nose. Here smell my nose" and proceeded to stick her nose to my face.

Time with Logan

A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to keep a friends baby. Kyle and Brooke are special friends of ours and they are blessed to have "Baby Logan" (as my kids call him). Brooke is a teacher and had to go back to work for wrap up meetings to end the year. We were able to spend precious time with him during this time. Sorry Brooke you had to go back to work. But glad we got to spend time with your lil man.

Wesley and Renee missed Baby Logan so much after he left that they dressed up like mommies and played with Renee's babies. Yes, Wesley is wearing Renee's birthday tutu. Mike is so proud   :)

What would we dooo, ooo, ooo, without a Kangaroo. (cup)

Media MONDAY on WEDNESDAY...why not right! All the cool people are doing it. :)
We have had a problem with our internet and our security system at our house so the internet is flakey. However, I am kinda glad it is the internet being flakey and not the security system. :) So needless to say, we are celebrating Media monday...today!

Last summer the Kangaroo gas station had what they call "roo cups". You bought a cup for $7 and got free refills all summer long. We were not able to take part because they ran out before we found out about it. Oh, by the way, they had 10,000 cups that they sold. Thats how popular they were. We spent weeks looking for them. We had to go to Callahan so on the way home we called/stopped at every store. We were kinda obsessive.

Well this year we did it!!! We had a friend call us to tell us they had just been released and we got one on the first day. YAY!! Although, this year they have not sold out...yet. And refills are now $0.25.

You can get anything in them. As long as it is cold. So we get icee's. It is a perfect way to keep control of the car when having to run errands. :)

Renee Says...

Renee says..."Daddy I got a booboo on my lip". Mike says "how do we fix that baby" Renee "ummm...a kiss and peroxide". So she can articulately say peroxide but not "us". She still says "wuss".

Renee Says..."Jon I really need to sit on the couch because my throat hurts, OK".
And sitting on the couch will help it?  :)

Jon won a piece of candy last week at church and put it in the cup holder in his booster seat. This week we were driving in the car and Jon opened his cup holder to find his candy. He was so excited to find it and really wanted to eat it right then. But at our house you get a piece of candy after "mommy time" (nap or just stay in your room for the time you are told). So he knew he was going to have to wait.

Renee expressed how attached she was to his piece of candy and how it was her favorite and how she only wanted to eat that kind after nap but she did not have a piece like that one. She is a little drama. :)

Jon says "I'm going to be really nice. Renee you can have my piece of candy" That just made me so proud. Although, he is always giving his stuff away. Mostly to Renee because she has a way with the art of acting.

I told her "Renee you should be really nice and say 'Thank you Jon but I want you to keep it because you really wanted it".

Renee looks at Jon and says "Thank you Jon, I'm going to keep it because I really wanted it".

Not quite what I had in mind.  :)

Then she continues on to say "I'm going to keep it forever and never eat it...until after nap"

Q:   How to properly hold a book.

A:   With your toe of course. So you can use both hands to talk with.

It is really awkward when she does this in church.
(Just playing)

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner???

A few weeks before I started this blog there was a contest given by our favorite lifestyle photographer. Lyndsay is a friend of ours that we have known for years. She was giving away a free photoshoot to the family who had the most votes.

I worked and worked to try to get everyone to vote so that we would win. Everyone came through and it was a landslide win. YAY!

A couple of weeks ago we headed to Jax beach to collect our winnings. We met Lyndsay at the Pier. We are not the normal family (and you all nod in agreement). So we didn't want the typical beach photos. We wanted something edgy and unseen. So we hit the store fronts, the construction zones, and the bicycle racks.

Wesley takes a little to warm up to people so it was a few photos in before we had the real Wesley back. Lyndsay is very comfortable to be around so it didn't take long for him to warm up. Jon was Lyndsay's little helper. He enjoyed helping her decide where we wanted to stop and how we wanted to stand. He was so much fun. And Renee will always be herself. We have a friend from Gainesville that gave her the perfect nickname. "Sassy Frass" and that she is.

The kids did such a great job. We played on the construction barriers and put them 8 feet in the air on the top of electrical transformers. :) They wanted to play, climb, wrestle, and even do the robot.

Thank you Lyndsay for sharing your time and gifts with us. You have such a gift for photography and share your passion "Jesus Christ" while doing it. You are blessed and a blessing. :)

If you have never experienced "Pink Coffee" you are really missing out. It will soon be an addiction and you will have to explain why you spend so much time enjoying the taste of it. So If anyone has not checked out her blog to see the photos you better stop reading and do that now.

BTW... we did have chicken that night for dinner.   :)
And ice cream. Here is a picture taken about nine o'clock that night on the way home.

Oh...did I forget to mention the part about being bribed?

Great Times and Good Oldies

Mike and I both have iPhones. We never sync them to our computer until we cannot take any more videos or pictures because it is too full. So we both synced them this week and I was looking back through some of the pictures and videos that we have recorded over the short time we have been a family. How much fun the time has been.

Here Renee is singing... to her own song :)
(She is on the 2nd row, left side in the pink and cheetah outfit)

I must have not been home for this. I'm not this much fun.

I could watch this one all day long and not stop laughing.
